Job summary

Vena Group is seeking an Engineering Services Associate to work with the Technical, BD, and HSSE teams, and external consultants on field works and due diligence for MM, TL, SS siting, and supervise MM construction.

You will review electrical designs, conduct mast commissioning, and coordinate interconnection requirements with grid operators, utilities, and landowners. Travel for site inspections and coordination meetings is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; registration as Electrical Engineer required.
• 1–3 years of experience in the energy or utility sector.
• Knowledge of drafting software, especially AutoCAD.
• Willingness to travel for site inspections and coordination meetings.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication; strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate electrical designs for transmission lines and tower placements.
• Conduct meteorological mast commissioning, operation and maintenance.
• Coordinate with grid operators and utilities for interconnection requirements.
• Prepare design drawings, data sheets, BOMs, and cost estimates for projects.
• Plan grid interconnection schemes for BD projects.
• Review wind and solar electrical designs for site compatibility and feasibility.
• Prepare initial transmission line alignments and assess buildability.
• Coordinate with BD and LA for site viability and access constraints.
• Produce technical reports and site evaluation documents.
• Maintain organized project documentation and assist with additional tasks as needed.

Job Summary:

The Engineering Services Associate will work closely with the Technical Team, BD Team, HSSE Team and other external stakeholders such as consultants and contractors for the conduct of field works/due diligence for MM, TL, SS siting activities and supervise MM construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct review and validation of engineering designs, including transmission line layouts, tower placements, and meteorological mast locations.
• Perform meteorological mast commissioning, operation and maintenance.
• Support in the grid interconnection studies documentation and coordinate with grid operator and distribution utilities for the project interconnection requirements.
• Prepare power evacuation facilities, substation and TL designs, SLDs, AC/DC schematic diagrams, technical specification and data sheets, bill of materials and cost estimates as needed for the project.
• Plan and recommend grid interconnection scheme for the BD projects.
• Review electrical design components for wind and solar projects, ensuring compatibility with site conditions and project requirements.
• Prepare initial transmission line alignments for BD projects, considering electrical design requirements and grid interconnection constraints.
• Evaluate transmission line routes and project sites for buildability, feasibility, and electrical system performance considerations.
• Support TL and SS location finalization, ensuring alignment with both engineering and grid requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Business Development (BD) for project planning and site viability and Land Acquisition (LA) for land constraints and access requirements.
• Support planning and coordination for construction power application and other site preparation activities.
• Prepare TOR & SA for site development studies.
• Prepare in house cost estimates and evaluate bid proposals.
• Support planning and execution of drone mapping activities and validation of orthomosaic outputs.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with electrical specifications, design standards, and project requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, assessments, and summaries, including civil design reviews and site evaluation reports.
• Maintain organized and accurate documentation of all technical and project-related records.
• Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Technical Team or Project Management.

Pre-requisites:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Registered Electrical Engineer required).
• 1-3 years of experience within the energy or utility sector.
• Knowledgeable in drafting and use of Autocad and other drafting software.
• Willingness to travel for site inspections and coordination meetings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work a team, as well as verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Physically fit with no existing health concerns.
