Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking an Asset Servicing Specialist to ensure accurate and timely processing of corporate actions and related activities across portfolios. You will scrub data, monitor entitlements, manage elections, and support proxy voting and class actions while maintaining strong controls and excellent client communications.

You will collaborate with fund managers, custodians, and internal stakeholders to gather timely responses, perform quality checks, and drive process

Qualifications

• Two to three years of relevant experience in asset servicing, securities operations, corporate actions, settlement, or investment operations.
• Knowledge of securities instruments, settlements, investment processes, corporate action events, elections, and entitlements.
• Ability to administer proxy voting and class action activities and manage related communications.
• Understanding of operational risk, procedural controls, quality reviews, checklists, documentation, and escalation requirements.
• Ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and third-party data or investment platforms used in asset servicing.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems to process, validate, investigate, or monitor corporate action information.
• Prepare management information, identify exceptions, and interpret operational or control data.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail, with the ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management information and lead or participate in governance calls.
• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to obtain timely responses or elections from fund managers.
• Submit responses and elections on time and confirm instructions are accepted by custodian banks.
• Perform quality checks for processed corporate actions and complete checklists.
• Verify entitlements with custodian banks for daily corporate actions and processing.
• Administer proxy voting and class actions and support related communications.
• Operate within established processes, policies, and controls.
• Suggest process improvements to controls and service delivery.
• Support system transitions, testing, and change initiatives.
• Provide cross-training and mentor teammates.
