Job summary

Avaloq is seeking an experienced Application Manager to join its Service Operations division, supporting a global client base with the Temenos Data Source. You will manage day-to-day operation, releases, upgrades, and incident resolution for critical financial data applications.

The role emphasizes collaboration with international teams, automation, and process improvement, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement and a focus on quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in application management, application support, or production operations of business-critical systems.
• Scripting and automation skills using Bash/Shell scripting in Linux/Unix environments.
• Good Linux/Unix knowledge with troubleshooting, log analysis, job scheduling, and operational support.
• Hands-on experience with Java application servers, preferably JBoss/WildFly, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with release management, application deployments, and operational change processes.
• Working knowledge of Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases, including execution and troubleshooting of SQL scripts.
• Experience with monitoring, incident management, problem management, and service operations.
• Banking or financial services experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Temenos DataSource (TDS/T-ProDB) or similar enterprise data management platforms is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with a strong service orientation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within international teams.
• Very good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the stable and reliable operation of business-critical applications in a production environment.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement application releases, upgrades, and operational changes.
• Monitor application services, interfaces, and batch processing to ensure service quality and availability.
• Perform incident, problem, and exception management, including participation in on-call support activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, automation scripts, and monitoring solutions.
• Support and continuously improve operational processes and framework procedures.
• Maintain technical documentation, operating manuals, and support procedures.
• Participate in regular service reviews and operational meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to migration, upgrade, and transformation projects within the service landscape.
• Drive automation and standardization initiatives to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
