Quantrics Enterprises Inc. is seeking an experienced Application Developer (Dev 2) focused on robust database solutions in a hybrid Philippines role.

You will design, implement, monitor, and optimize secure, scalable databases supporting critical operations, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity. You will lead maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable database services.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain database environments according to standards and security policies.
• Manage administration and optimization of complex database systems, including high-availability and disaster recovery, and cloud-based solutions.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members in database administration.
• Identify, analyze, and execute maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning activities.
• Design and establish database monitoring, backup, recovery, and maintenance procedures.
• Create and maintain database architecture, operational, and technical documentation.
• Communicate risks, issues, and dependencies to project managers and stakeholders.
• Develop and document testing, validation, backup, recovery, and DR procedures for implementation and readiness.
• Assist Support Team during deployments, upgrades, migrations, and production roll-outs.
• Monitor health, performance, capacity, and availability; implement preventive measures.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and development teams to optimize system performance.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Application Developer (Dev 2) is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing secure, scalable, and reliable database solutions that support business operations and technology initiatives. The role ensures database performance, availability, and stability through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality database services.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain database environments in accordance with established database architecture standards, security policies, and best practices.

• Manage the administration and optimization of complex database systems, including high-availability, disaster recovery, and cloud-based database solutions where applicable.

• Provide technical guidance and database administration support to junior team members as needed.

• Identify, analyze, and execute all necessary activities related to database maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.

• Design and establish database monitoring, backup, recovery, and maintenance procedures either independently or as part of a team.

• Create, update, and maintain database architecture, operational, and technical documentation.

• Work within project and operational timelines, proactively communicating risks, issues, and dependencies to project managers and stakeholders.

• Develop and document database testing, validation, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for implementation and operational readiness.

• Assist the Support Team during database deployments, upgrades, migrations, and production roll-out activities.

• Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability, implementing proactive measures to prevent service disruptions.

• Troubleshoot database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure system stability and data integrity.

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and development teams to support database-related initiatives and optimize overall system performance.

• Cloud Database Technologies – Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms such as Microsoft Azure SQL Database, Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or other managed database services.
• Database Automation & Scripting – Ability to develop and utilize scripts and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, SQL scripts, etc.) to streamline database administration, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery – Familiarity with database replication, clustering, failover mechanisms, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Qualification/s

• Candidate mustpossessat least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), or equivalent.

Professional Qualification/s

• 2+ years of experience in the development field isrequired

Work Conditions

• Hybrid Setup (Once a month Onsite – Taytay or San Mateo)
• Regular Shift (8PM – 5AM) – (Rotational Shift Mondays to Sunday) 2 days Off
