Job summary

DFI Retail Group is seeking an Integration Engineer to design, develop, and onboard API endpoints on the API gateway, enabling seamless integration across internal and external systems. You will troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain the API platform to ensure optimal performance.

You will collaborate with IT and business teams to align integrations with requirements, review processes, and support secure, scalable API implementations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field.
• 3+ years in API gateway or integration platform.
• 3+ years designing, developing, and implementing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• 2+ years programming/scripting in Unix, Batch, Ruby and Python.
• 2+ years in file transfer or workload automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and workflow documentation.
• Basic IT security and database knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical, documentation, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to focus, prioritize tasks, and work in a team.
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare functional/test data and monitor testing activities, including API performance and code optimization.
• Integrate third-party services via APIs using standard methodologies and tools.
• Define design/framework conversions to meet technical requirements and ensure system integration.
• Drive integration strategies with architects aligned to deadlines.
• Collaborate with teams to gather requirements using architecture frameworks.
• Provide expertise in API protocols and building secure, scalable APIs.
• Create and maintain API specifications and documentation.
• Verify/test integration points for support activities and projects.
• Investigate issues and provide root cause analysis.
• Build automated system performance monitoring and generate recurring issue reports.
• Participate in transition and knowledge transfer activities.
