Job description

Responsibilities

• Operate ambulances in a safe and lawful manner under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.
• Respond promptly to dispatch calls and follow the most efficient and safe routes to destinations.
• Assist EMTs and paramedics with loading and unloading patients, stretchers, and medical equipment.
• Provide basic patient monitoring and support within scope of training (if certified in BLS or First Aid).
• Perform routine vehicle checks before and after each shift to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the vehicle’s interior and exterior, as well as onboard equipment.
• Complete and maintain accurate trip and vehicle inspection logs.
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure adherence to safety standards and policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, emergency responders, hospital staff, and patients.
• Participate in regular training, drills, and continuing education as required for the role.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• With NCII Certification
• With previous experience as Hospital / Ambulance Driver
• Certification in Emergency Vehicle Operation (EVOC) or equivalent.
• First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred or required depending on jurisdiction).
