A refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) technician in a cold storage company isresponsible for theinstallation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial-scale refrigeration systemsto ensure consistent temperature and humidity levels for the safe storage of perishable goods.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle, recover, reclaim, and charge refrigerants (e.g., ammonia, Freon) in strict compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new refrigeration equipment and systems, including connecting power, water, and refrigerant lines according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Work closely with warehouse management, operations teams, and other maintenance personnel to schedule tasks effectively and ensure smooth workflow.
- Respond rapidly to system alarms and breakdowns, often on an on-call basis, to minimize operational disruptions and potential product loss.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of Mechanical Engineering
- At lease 2 years of experience in repair and maintenance of Cold Storage facility.
