Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced AI/ML engineer to design and deploy retrieval-augmented generation systems and AI agents. You will build computer-vision and edge AI applications for store operations and manufacturing, plus related data pipelines and integrations.

You will work with BI & AI Context Engineers to tailor AI solutions, implement privacy controls, and ensure robust evaluation and governance across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field.
• 3+ years in software or ML engineering; at least 1 year building/operating LLM, agent, retrieval, CV, or sensor-AI apps in production.
• Experience with CCTV/NVR or edge video pipelines is a strong advantage.
• Preferred: Databricks ML or Generative AI certification; cloud platform certs.

Responsibilities

• Build retrieval-augmented generation systems, knowledge assistants, AI agents, and classification/workflows.
• Create applications based on user needs and available AI context with BI & AI Context Engineers.
• Develop supporting application services, interfaces and integrations.
• Build computer-vision services for store operations and manufacturing, including inspection and monitoring.
• Deploy and manage edge AI over IoT and sensing devices, with model versioning and offline degradation handling.
• Ensure evaluation, safety, privacy, and governance for AI outputs and data.
