Job summary

Kumu, Inc. seeks a resourceful AI Product Builder to turn ideas into a working web-based product. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate a business concept into an MVP, planning, prototyping, testing, and deployment using AI-enabled development tools.

You will design product workflows, user experiences, and integrations, build interfaces and dashboards, and ensure secure data handling. Autonomy, clear communication, and ownership of delivery are essential.

We're looking for a resourceful and technically capable AI Product Builder to help bring a new digital product to life.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys turning ideas into functional applications, understands how digital products should work, and knows how to leverage modern AI development tools to build solutions efficiently.

We're not necessarily looking for someone who writes every line of code manually. We're looking for someone who understands product logic, user experience, system workflows, and how to use AI-powered development platforms to create functional, reliable applications.

You’ll work directly with project stakeholders to translate a business concept into a working web-based product, from initial planning and prototyping through testing and deployment.

What You’ll Do

Product Planning & Solution Design

• Translate business requirements into clear product features, user journeys, and functional workflows.
• Map out how different features, data, and user interactions connect.
• Identify the simplest and most effective approach to building a functional MVP.
• Recommend appropriate AI development tools, technologies, and third‑party services.

AI‑Assisted Product Development

• Build and iterate on a web‑based application using AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, Replit, or similar platforms.
• Develop functional user interfaces, dashboards, data management features, and automated workflows.
• Integrate databases, APIs, AI services, and other third‑party tools as required.
• Design and implement user authentication, access permissions, and secure data handling.
• Review, troubleshoot, and refine AI‑generated code and functionality.

Testing, Deployment & Optimization

• Validate that application features work as intended.
• Identify and resolve functional, performance, and security issues.
• Deploy the application to a suitable hosting environment.
• Document the system, its integrations, and ongoing maintenance requirements.
• Ensure proper handover of the completed product, including source code and administrative access.

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated experience building functional web applications or digital products, whether through traditional development, AI‑assisted coding, or a combination of both.
• Strong understanding of product workflows, business logic, data relationships, and user experience.
• Hands‑on proficiency with at least one AI‑assisted development environment, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or Replit.
• Ability to translate loosely defined requirements into clear technical specifications and working features.
• Working knowledge of databases, APIs, authentication, hosting, and application deployment.
• Ability to debug, test, and improve AI‑generated applications rather than relying entirely on generated outputs.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, independence, and ownership of project deliverables.
• Ability to explain technical decisions to nontechnical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing SaaS products, internal tools, or data‑driven web applications.
• Familiarity with Supabase, Firebase, PostgreSQL, or similar database and back‑end services.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs and AI‑powered automation.
• Experience with document processing, intelligent search, or data extraction.
• Familiarity with low‑code/no‑code tools and workflow automation platforms.
• Experience independently taking an MVP from concept to deployment.

What Success Looks Like

At the end of the engagement, you will have:

• Translated an initial product concept into a clear and actionable development plan.
• Built a functional web application that meets agreed MVP requirements.
• Successfully implemented the necessary workflows, integrations, and data structures.
• Tested and deployed the application for actual use.
• Delivered complete project documentation, source code, and system access for handover.
