Kuga Corp in the Philippines is seeking an AI Software Engineer to design and build agents inside our CRM, using Claude and OpenAI APIs. You will own the full agent stack, from tool calls to memory, ensuring safe, auditable execution across systems.
You will implement retrieval-augmented generation, evaluate performance, and collaborate with sales, engineering and operations in three countries. A modern Eastwood office is available with day shifts.
These four are already scoped and waiting. You will build them in roughly this order, then find the next ones yourself.
Lead qualification and response. An agent that reads inbound commercial enquiries, qualifies them against our target customer profile, enriches the record with site and consumption detail, and routes them to the right salesperson with a summary.
Proposal and quote drafting. An agent that assembles commercial solar proposals from site assessment data, system design inputs and pricing rules - then checks its own output against our commercial standards before a human signs off.
Document and bill extraction. An agent that pulls structured data out of electricity bills, interval data files, equipment datasheets and compliance forms, and writes it cleanly into the CRM.
Internal knowledge assistant. An agent that answers staff questions from Kuga's own knowledge - product specifications, installation standards, compliance requirements, past projects - with citations, so the answer can be trusted.
Design, build, test and deploy AI agents inside the custom CRM using Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT) APIs
Own the full stack of an agent: tool and function calling, structured outputs, retrieval over proprietary data, memory and state, orchestration, error handling and human-in-the-loop review points
Build the retrieval layer - embeddings, vector search and chunking over product, compliance and project knowledge - so agents answer from company data instead of guessing
Write evaluations before shipping; define what "working" means for each agent, measure it against real records, and show the numbers
Benchmark Claude against ChatGPT on actual tasks and make evidence-based decisions on accuracy, latency and token cost
Integrate with existing CRM database and application, plus surrounding systems, through APIs, webhooks and queued background jobs
Keep customer and site data safe - implement sensible controls on what is sent to third-party models, full auditability, and agents that fail safely
Report progress clearly to the Australian team in writing, and work directly with sales, engineering and operations staff in both countries
Document what you build and train the wider business on what these agents can and cannot be trusted to do
At least four years in software engineering, including production experience building with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI or both)
You have shipped at least one agentic system to real users - something with tool calling, multi-step reasoning and a real failure mode you had to solve
Strong Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, and confidence working inside an existing custom application and its database
Hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented generation: embeddings, vector databases, chunking strategies and evaluation
Solid engineering fundamentals - SQL, REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, asynchronous and queued processing, version control, testing
Excellent written English; clear written updates are a core part of this job
Genuine self-direction; you need to be someone who investigates, decides, and raises problems early rather than waiting to be asked
Willing and able to work onsite at the Eastwood office
Agent frameworks and orchestration tooling - Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents, MCP integrations.
Experience in energy, solar, construction, logistics or another operations-heavy industry.
Competitive salary. PHP 80,000 - 120,000 per month, based on demonstrated experience.
Health and statutory. HMO coverage from day one, 13th month pay and all government-mandated benefits.
Sensible hours. Day shift, Monday to Friday, in a modern Eastwood office. No night shift.
Real ownership. The first AI role at Kuga globally. You set the direction and the standards and your work is used daily by teams in three countries.
Tools and learning. Budget for model access, tooling, training and certification. You cannot build this well on a free tier and we know it.
Stability. An established, award-winning company with offices in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the Philippines.
