Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials/chemical engineering, aeronautical or related field.
• Minimum three years of laboratory engineering experience in aerospace.
• Advanced knowledge of industry specifications (ASTM, AMS and Military Standards).
• Advanced knowledge of quality systems and ISO 17025 documentation.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and office software skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs intermediate to complex testing execution by established procedures and standards.
• Prepare, review and approve intermediate to complex testing reports.
• Supports intermediate complexity projects of the Laboratory following priorities defined by the section chief.
• Review and approve internal procedures for laboratory testing.
• Review and approve equipment maintenance activities and usage procedures.
• Plans activities in field of expertise for mid-term range.
• Contributes to continuous improvement.
• Handles problems of diverse scope and interfaces with external collaborators as needed.
• Responds to internal/external customer requests and shares knowledge with other groups.
• Provides training for staff as required.
