This role will lead the Actuarial Valuation, Capital Management, Performance Reporting, and Business Analysis functions within the insurance company. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, optimizing capital utilization, and providing strategic insights to support business growth.
The role manages a team of 10-12 professionals, including 3 direct reports, coordinates with both the regulator and auditors, and collaborates closely with senior management to align actuarial strategies with corporate objectives.
Actuarial Valuation:
Manage the preparation of data input, valuation results, technical insurance provisions for recording in financial statements (both PFRS4 and IFRS17 bases), in timely, accurate, complete and consistent manner.
Manage the production and handling of accountabilities on the company’s different lines of business.
Lead the preparation of actuarial-related reports for regulatory submission (e.g., AVR, RBC, QSR, AS, ORSA), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accounting principles.
Capital Management:
Lead the Capital Allocation process of both Life and GI business to determine the excess capital that can be remitted to shareholders as cash dividends, while maintaining sufficient buffer on the company’s networth and solvency. Provide insights and recommendations for capital optimization and risk mitigation strategies.
Performance Reporting:
Prepare and present financial and operational reports related to actuarial metrics, product performance and business profitability. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and clarity of reporting to stakeholders including regulator and auditors.
Manage the actuarial aspect of business plan and forecasts (e.g., Strategic Planning, Revised Budget, PCHY, FC1, FC2, PCFY), and provide recommendations that support sustainable CSM growth and create shareholder value.
Business Analysis:
Provide in-depth analyses of business performance, product profitability, and risk exposures. Support strategic decision-making through quantitative and qualitative insights.
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of actuarial professionals. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Regulatory & Compliance:
Coordinate with regulator and auditors. Ensure all actuarial activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, Risk Management, and Executive teams to provide actuarial expertise and support strategic initiatives.
