Job summary

Zenith United Electric Corp in Metro Manila seeks an organized Tax and Compliance Clerk to handle BIR filings and related reports in the Philippines. You will review VAT, prepare tax forms, maintain EFPS records, and coordinate with external accountants for monthly and quarterly returns, while aligning with regulatory requirements.

The role supports documentation for licenses and ensures accurate reconciliation of the general ledger with BIR submissions, enabling compliant financial operations

Responsibilities

• Review and verify BIR filings and payments for assigned companies.
• Ensure monthly VAT returns and tax reports are accurate.
• Prepare and file BIR programs: 1702Q, 1702RT, 2550Q-VAT, 1601C, 1601.
• Maintain EFPS files and related FS reports.
• Collate and record customer BIR 2307 certificates.
• Coordinate with External Accountant for monthly/quarterly returns.
• Reconcile Sales/ Purchases with General Ledger and BIR returns.
• Assist in documentation for licenses, registrations, and LOA.
• Check and tally BIR findings vs SLSP.

Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Submit accurately and timely thru online all BIR filings and payments of assigned companies to ensure compliance with BIR requirements.

• Review and verify the Tax Relief against Monthly VAT Return to ensure similarity or tally.

• File/ submit accurately and timely the following data/ report at BIR Program:

a. Monthly Tax Relief

b. Summary Alpha List Withholding Taxes (SAWT)

c. List of Payees whom Taxes Withheld

d. Summary List of Sales and Purchases

• To assist in coordinating with External Accountant the monthly/quarterly tax returns such as Withholding Tax, VAT, Income Tax and other business permits and licenses.

• To maintain the files of monthly and quarterly submitted EFPS tax returns and other related FS reports:

a. 1702Q/1702RT

b. 2550Q-VAT

c. 1601C-Compensation

d. 1601- Expanded Withholding Tax

e. Annual Inventory

f. Others

Collate and record all customer credit tax certificate (BIR 2307).

• Gather and countercheck with Sales records the correctness of the submitted BIR 2307 of customers.

• Coordinate with Credit & Collection the BIR 2307 for collection.

• Record all received customer BIR 2307.

To assist/prepares for Government and Documentation processes – Licenses, Registration and Clearances (with field work)

• Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)

• Local Government Unit/City Hall

• Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

• Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP)

• Other related government units that required in processing the documents needed

To assist in checking the entries/recorded sales, purchases and importation from General Ledger that generated from Accounting System.

• To check and tally the monthly total amount of transactions of sales, purchases and importation from general ledger account vs submitted BIR returns – 2550Q/Summary List of Sales and Purchases.

• To assist in checking/tallying the recorded expenses vs. submitted ITR

• To assist in preparing the documentation/requirements in the issuance of Letter of Authority (LOA) and coordinate with external Accountant if necessary.

• To assist in checking the list of customers and suppliers as BIR findings with discrepancy against submitted SLSP.

• To coordinate with external Accountant in the preparation of Books of Account if necessarily.

• To assist in reconciling the Notice of Withholding Tax Deficiency issued by BIR to Zenith Group of Companies.

Other tasks that may be assigned by the superior and/or top management from time to time.
