Job summary

MEGA PRIME FOODS INCORPORATED is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist (General Accounting) to support accurate recording of financial transactions and maintain rigorous financial records. Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a general accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage large datasets and create financial reports.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, GAAP and bookkeeping practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Recording and reconciling daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts and ensuring all postings are accurate and complete.
• Processing invoices, cheques and other financial documents with attention to detail and adherence to company policies.
• Performing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies for resolution.
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Maintaining accurate and organised accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assisting with audit procedures and providing necessary documentation to internal and external auditors.
• Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjusting entries.
• Liaising with other departments to obtain necessary financial information and clarifications.
• Assisting with the maintenance of accounting systems and databases.
