Job summary

GCash in the Philippines is seeking a leader for Policy Development & Regulatory Compliance to design and implement accounting policy frameworks for digital products like e-wallets and digital assets.

You will collaborate with Product, Legal, Risk, and IT to assess regulatory implications, offer guidance on complex transactions, and support training and automation while ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Licensed CPA in the Philippines (required).
• Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting policy, technical accounting, financial audit, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience in fintech, digital banking, e-money issuers, or payment service providers is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of PFRS, BSP regulations, and BIR/SEC reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

Policy Development & Implementation

• Review or Design and maintain robust accounting policy frameworks tailored to digital financial products (e.g., e-wallets, online lending, virtual currencies, payment gateways).
• Ensure accounting practices are in line with PFRS , PAS ,BSP Manual of Regulations for Non-Bank Financial Institutions (MORNBFI), and other relevant regulatory issuances.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Risk, and IT to assess the accounting and regulatory implications of new financial products and services.

Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring

• Interpret and apply BSP Circulars, BIR revenue regulations, and SEC rules to ensure accurate and timely statutory reporting.
• Monitor regulatory updates and emerging trends affecting fintech financial reporting and control practices.

Technical Accounting Advisory

• Provide accounting guidance for complex or non-standard transactions such as deferred revenues, digital assets, financial instruments, intercompany settlements, and embedded derivatives.
• Evaluate accounting implications for fintech partnerships, joint ventures, or platform integrations.

Training & Capacity Building

• Conduct regular training for Finance, Operations, and Product teams on relevant accounting topics and policy changes.

Support the automation of financial processes while ensuring policy compliance is retained.

We are looking for:

• Licensed CPA in the Philippines (required)
• Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting policy, technical accounting, financial audit, or regulatory compliance
• Experience in fintech, digital banking, e-money issuers , or payment service providers is strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of PFRS , BSP regulations , and BIR/SEC reporting requirements
• Ability to assess and apply accounting treatment to tech-enabled transactions and digital assets
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and comfort working with cross-functional digital tools
