Job summary

GoTyme is seeking an Accounting Officer to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting within the payroll lending business. This role covers core accounting, reporting processes, and management analysis to support decision-making.

You will collaborate with accounts payable, prepare reports for senior management, and perform month-end/quarter-end closings while maintaining ledgers, records, and tax compliance.

Qualifications

• CPA preferred.
• Experience in Big 4 accounting firms is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with accounts payable to ensure transactions are captured, reviewed, and reconciled timely and accurately.
• Provide necessary financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Execute month-end and quarter-end closing procedures to ensure timely financial conclusions.
• Maintain ledgers, journals, invoices, receipts, and bank transaction records.
• Generate financial reports, schedules, prepare taxes, and assist with audits and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with external audit requests, including preparation and review of schedules.
• Prepare and file national and local taxes with relevant regulatory bodies (BIR, LGU, SEC, etc.).
• Maintain organized trackers and safekeeping of accounts and reports.
• Proactively develop, implement, and manage risk-reduction programs including theft prevention.

About the role

The Accounting Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting within payroll lending business of the Bank. This position is responsible for core accounting functions, financial reporting processes, and management analysis to support business decision-making.

• Work and collaborate with the accounts payable team in ensuring transactions are captured, reviewed, and reconciled timely and accurately
• Collaborate with both accounting and corporate finance team members to provide necessary financial reports to senior-level manager.
• Execute the month-end and quarter-end procedures to make sure closing processes are met and delivered
• Maintain accurate and complete records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, receipts, and information related to bank transactions
• Work with the accounting team in daily, monthly, and annual activities, including generating and developing financial reports, schedules, preparing taxes, and assisting with audits and resolving discrepancies
• Assist with external audit requests, including preparation & review of schedules as assigned
• Prepare, calculate, file, and remit national and local taxes including the relevant returns and attachments in accordance with existing regulatory bodies such as BIR, LGU, SEC etc.
• Maintain organized trackers, safekeeping of accounts and accounting reports on all financial activities
• Take a proactive approach to innovate, develop, implement, and manage programs to reduce risk, including preventing and detecting theft and dishonesty.
• Any other responsibilities that your immediate manager may assign
• Undertakes any ad hoc duties or responsibilities that may be assigned

Requirements

• Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Experience in Big 4 Accounting Firms is an advantage
• At least 3 years of working experience
• Good interpersonal skills, as you will interact with colleagues at all levels within the Company
• A passion for excellence and a desire to help build things from the ground up
• Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records
• Strong understanding and application of financial principles, standards, industry practices, techniques and concepts;
