Job summary

Futura International BV in Manila, Philippines, seeks a payroll professional to manage end-to-end payroll for seafarers and office staff. You will ensure accurate gross-to-net calculations, prepare bank files, and perform final reviews before payments.

Responsibilities include handling multi-currency payroll, reconciling to the general ledger, and submitting monthly/annual tax returns while responding to employee inquiries and supporting process improvements.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Experience in a manning agency or shipping company is an advantage.
• CPA preferred: PRC Board of Accountancy.

• Final wage account when a seafarer signs off.


• Monthly payroll processing for office staff, from collecting inputs to net pay.


• Final payroll review before payment, including comparison with the previous period.


• Preparation of bank files and reconciliation with the general ledger.


• Preparation and filing of monthly and annual contribution and tax returns.


• Responding to queries from seafarers, their families and employees about pay, allotments and deductions.

Education and Formal Qualifications

• Degree: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or a related field (Management Accounting, Accounting Information System, Internal Auditing, Finance).


• Experience: 2–3 years of end-to-end payroll processing; experience in a manning agency or shipping company is an advantage.


• CPA license (preferred): issued by the PRC Board of Accountancy.

Technical Knowledge

• Full payroll cycle: collecting and validating inputs, gross-to-net calculation, preparing bank files, general ledger reconciliations.


• Multi-currency payroll: seafarer wages contracted in foreign currency, remittances in pesos, exchange differences.


• Controls: final validation before payment, prior-period comparison, exception review, four-eyes principle.


• Deadlines: working to cut-off dates and clear hand-offs.


• Audit: preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
