Qualifications

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and timely preparation of financial reports. The role involves managing accounting staff, monitoring financial transactions, and supporting management in financial planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Monitor the general ledger and maintain proper accounting records.
• Prepare management reports and financial analyses to support business decisions.

Accounting Operations

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
• Monitor cash flow and coordinate with management regarding financial requirements.
• Review journal entries and accounting adjustments.

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and government regulations.
• Coordinate audits and facilitate requests from internal and external auditors.
• Manage tax compliance, including preparation and filing of required tax reports and returns.
• Develop and maintain effective internal control procedures.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development opportunities.
• Ensure the accounting team meets deadlines and performance objectives.

Budgeting and Planning

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
• Provide recommendations for cost control and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
