Job summary

Lifestrong Marketing Inc. in Metro Manila seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

You will lead monthly closings, manage GL, budgeting, AP/AR, inventory costing, tax filings, audits, cash flow, and drive ERP improvements while mentoring the accounting team and partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Must have experience managing end-to-end accounting including closing cycles.
• Strong knowledge of PFRS and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis by brand/SKU/channel.
• Experience in AP/AR oversight and cash flow monitoring.
• Ability to lead internal controls, audits, and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of Income Statement
• Balance Sheet
• Cash Flow Statement
• Analyze variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods
• Present financial performance insights to management
• Oversee General Ledger integrity and reconciliation
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions (PFRS compliant)
• Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Maintain chart of accounts aligned with reporting requirements
• Support annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting
• Provide cost analysis and profitability insights (by brand, SKU, channel)
• Partner with departments on financial planning
• Ensure efficient AP and AR processes
• Vendor payments (timely and accurate)
• Customer collections monitoring
• Oversee aging reports and enforce credit policies
• Collaborate with Sales on AR collection and reconciliation
• Monitor inventory valuation and movements (warehouse & ecommerce)
• Ensure accurate COGS and landed cost computation
• Analyze shrinkage and obsolescence
• Ensure compliance with BIR and regulatory reporting
• VAT, Withholding Taxes, Income Tax
• Prepare and review tax filings and schedules
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
• Ensure readiness for audits and minimize tax exposure

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in supporting business decisions through financial insights, maintaining cost discipline, and safeguarding company assets in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of:
• Income Statement

2. General Accounting & Ledger Management

• Oversee General Ledger (GL) integrity and reconciliation
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions (PFRS compliant)

3. Budgeting & Financial Planning Support

• Support annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting
• Provide cost analysis and profitability insights (by brand, SKU, channel)
• Partner with departments (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain) on financial planning

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight

• Ensure efficient AP and AR processes:
• Vendor payments (timely and accurate)
• Customer collections monitoring

• Collaborate with Sales on AR collection and reconciliation

5. Inventory & Cost Accounting (Critical for FMCG)

• Monitor inventory valuation and movements (warehouse & e-commerce)

• Analyze shrinkage, obsolescence, and slow-moving inventory

6. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

• Ensure compliance with BIR and other regulatory requirements:

• Prepare and review tax filings and supporting schedules
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
• Ensure readiness for audits and minimize tax exposure

7. Internal Controls & Audit

• Strengthen and enforce internal control systems

8. Cash Flow & Treasury Monitoring
