Job summary

Firefly Electric and Lighting Corporation (FELCO) is seeking an Accounting Associate for the on-site Accounts Payable function in Ermita, Manila. You will process payment requests, ensure compliance with policies, and keep accurate financial records.

The role involves updating requesters on status, assisting with month-end close, supporting the Tax group, and maintaining document organization. This is a full-time, on-site position with a 5-day work week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or related courses.
• Fresh graduates with internship experience in Accounts Payable.
• Familiar with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets for data organization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with data accuracy.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Location: Ermita, Manila (near SM City Manila)

Role Type: Full-time (on-site)

Department: Finance - Accounting Team

Reporting to: Assistant Accounting Manager

Work Schedule: 5-day work week

As Accounting Associate under Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for receiving and timely processing of payment requests while ensuring compliance with accounting policies. You will record and update financial records, and ensure and validate proper documentation of each transaction.

Other requirements includes the following:

• Receiving, validating and processing payments requests to ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards.
• Recording accurately and making necessary adjustments for any discrepancies and errors.
• Providing updates to requesters on the status of their payment requests and sending notifications and documentation to recipients.
• Supporting the Tax group by providing proper documentation of valid receipts and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Organizing and maintaining financial documents and records, and assisting with administrative tasks related to finance and accounting as needed.

To succeed in this role you will be required to meet the following:

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or any accounting related courses.
• Fresh graduates with internship experience in Accounts Payable.
• Familiar in SAP or any similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
• Proficiency in Excel and/or google sheet for sorting and organizing data.
• Flexibility and agility to take on additional tasks as required.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to respond effectively to inquiries and deliver information to stakeholders.
• Analytical skills and attention to details in processing data to identify any inconsistencies.
