Job summary

GM in the Philippines seeks an experienced accounting professional to partner on SEC requirements, GAAP, and SOX compliance while driving process improvements and automation. The role covers general ledger duties, internal control design, and financial reporting across consolidated results and SEC filings.

Collaboration with Finance and stakeholders is essential to meet tight deadlines and deliver business insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or similar discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or extensive experience in GM complex process.
• Competency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
• Experience in implementation, program management, defining, and re-engineering a process.
• SAP experience.
• Exposure to digital automation and analytics tools, including AI platforms, SQL, KNIME, Python, and related technologies.
• Ability to leverage automation and analytics tools to improve efficiency, automate processes, and generate business insights.
• Ability to manage client requests with minimal supervision.
• Strong ownership mindset and accountability for results.
• Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and execution capability; ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
• Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic business partner on SEC requirements, accounting, audit/SOX compliance, and financial analyses.
• Perform General Ledger functions while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with GAAP.
• Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks and issues.
• Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts.
• Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.
• Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications of transactions and support material business decisions.
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting, including consolidated results, SEC documents, and management review reports.
• Ensure reporting quality and adherence to strict timelines.
• Evaluate accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement.
• Research and interpret new accounting standards and determine their applicability to GM.
• Comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements.
• Support GM CARS reporting and end-to-end General Accounting processes.
• Manage client requests with minimal supervision.
