Job summary

Chevron Philippines Incorporated in Makati invites applications for an Accounting Analyst to support Upstream accounting, inventory, and AR processes. The role will be based at 6750 Building, Makati City, Philippines.

Responsibilities include month-end close, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and FX rate management in JDE, with opportunities to work on RPA and data analytics projects. A strong accounting background and proactive, collaborative mindset are essential.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Analyst. This role will be based in 6750 Building, Makati City, Philippines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

General Accounting focusing on Upstream Business:

• Inventory and Materials & Supplies accounting
• Accounts Receivable processes
• Accruals and Reporting
• Month-End-Close (MEC) – calculation and posting of various accruals, allocations, and adjustments related to inventory, receivables, etc.
• Month and Quarterly Account Reconciliations
• Statutory Audit / Reporting
• Foreign Exchange (FX) rate management in JDE

Special Projects or Ad Hoc Tasks

• Support emerging technologies as opportunities arise (RPA, Data Analytics, etc.); apply to all existing processes as applicable
• Continuous improvement on all processes above
• Coordination role within the team for IUAS-wide projects, initiatives, or periodic routine tasks

General Administrative Tasks

• Ensure adherence to all safety and compliance requirements
• Set performance agreements and monitor results through Performance Management Process
• Take part in professional development activities by attending trainings and reading relevant materials
• Maintain updated process documentation
• Ensure all accounting records and supporting documents relating to the processes are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company's retention policy
• Attend relevant meetings

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Uses clear and concise oral / written communication skills - develops and utilizes network, facilitates and coordinates communications with various contacts and takes a consultative position to fulfill control duties
• Able to gather and interpret diverse source documents to ensure proper accounting of more complex transactions
• Strong analytical skills - uses awareness of expected results in the preparation and review of entries, statements, or reports; identifies, analyzes, and resolves routine variances and discrepancies
• Strong technical knowledge - utilizes advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite of PC application and tools to be able to efficiently process, manage, and present data; utilizes systems knowledge to be able to eliminate unnecessary complexities in own desk
• Must have the propensity to work in a proactive, results-oriented, and customer-focused environment
• Enjoys working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP and/ or JDE
• Exposure to Project Accounting, General Accounting, and Accrual Accounting (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable) processes
• Flexibility to work non-traditional work schedules, including weekends and holidays
