Job description

CARE Philippines is a leading humanitarian and development organization dedicated to fighting poverty and social injustice, with a strong focus on empowering women. As part of the global CARE network, we work alongside communities, partners, and donors to deliver sustainable programs in emergency response, education, health, livelihoods, and climate resilience. We are committed to fostering a world of hope, tolerance, and social justice where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security.

As an Accountant, you will play a central role in our day-to-day operations, monthly close cycles, donor award management, and system reconciliations.

  • Financial Operations & Period Close: Own end-to-end period-close activities to deliver timely, accurate hard-close files. Perform subsystem reconciliations across project costing, AR, AP, assets, and general ledger, along with comprehensive bank reconciliations.

  • Awards & Donor Management: Set up donors, project IDs, budgets, and fund codes in line with agreed SLAs. Manage donor report reconciliations, non-country/partner expense tracking, and project close-outs.

  • Reconciliation & Technical Guidance: Keep key balance sheet accounts fully reconciled. Serve as a go-to contact for resolving technical accounting entries, troubleshooting system glitches with Support, and resolving assigned JIRA incidents.

  • Audit & System Onboarding: Assist international teams with financial statements and donor audits. Help onboard and train team members on PeopleSoft functionalities and data conversion activities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in global process optimization, mailbox management, and special operational initiatives assigned by leadership.
