Job summary

Crawford & Company in the Philippines seeks an Accountant to maintain and control General Ledger accounts in line with GAAP. The role involves analytical review of financial records, client account reconciliations, and cross-functional collaboration to drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 1+ year in accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Excel and EPM/SmartView is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1+ year of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic word processing, preferably Word.
• Strong spreadsheet knowledge, preferably Excel.
• Experience with EPM/SmartView (or similar).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and reconciles client accounts to ensure all transactions have cleared.
• Performs reconciliations of client account records and resolves discrepancies.
• Closes out relationships with terminated clients and returns escrow balances.
• Meets with IT, Operations, and Finance managers to implement process changes.
• Resolves reporting discrepancies with client contacts.
• Performs root cause analysis of general ledger accounts and journal entries.
• Troubleshoots cash accounting and book-to-bank processing issues.
• Identifies client payments and ensures correct accounts receivable application.
• Makes process improvement recommendations and implements them.
• Compiles and distributes banking activity reports and management summaries.
