Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years accounting experience in a multinational or SSC.
• Strong knowledge of AP, GL, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Attention to detail and time management, ability to multitask.
• Independent work style with strong stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, payment requests, and vendor reconciliations.
• Support month-end close with accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Monitor bank transactions and intercompany reconciliations.
• Review purchasing/approval requests for policy compliance.
• Prepare financial documentation for internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate records across finance systems and data integrity.
• Identify process improvements and drive operational efficiencies.
• Provide support to Accounts Receivable and related functions.

About the role

Applus+ is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized Accountant to join our Australia and Pacific Finance team. This is a temporary position to provide coverage during an employee's extended medical leave. The successful candidate will support critical finance operations across multiple entities, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role offers valuable exposure to a multinational environment and the opportunity to work closely with regional stakeholders across Australia and the Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, payment requests, and vendor reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support month-end close activities, including preparation of accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor and reconcile bank transactions and clearing accounts.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations and resolution of identified discrepancies.
• Review purchasing and approval requests to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing and providing financial documentation.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across finance systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to operational efficiencies.
• Provide support to Accounts Receivable and other finance functions as required.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a multinational or shared services environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL) Accounting, Account Reconciliations, and Month-End Close Processes.
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of financial accuracy and attention to detail.
