Accounting staff are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting overall financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
- Reconcile financial discrepancies and resolve inaccuracies in accounts
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification and monitoring outstanding balances
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and review financial transactions for accuracy
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including filing tax returns
- Support audits by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and implement best practices
- Provide financial analysis and insights to aid decision-making and performance forecasting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in accounting or a similar role
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial legislation, and regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for complex financial data
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of payroll, cost accounting, and property accounting functions
- Ability to prepare journal entries, perform general ledger operations, and assist in monthly closings
- Strong problem‑solving skills to identify and correct financial
- Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration with management and auditors
