Virtual Studios Philippines is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to lead our growing finance team. In this role, you will manage the company’s overall accounting operations, including payroll and tax compliance. This position plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, and will work closely with management to support strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manage and mentor Accounting Assistants, ensuring high performance and timely completion of tasks.
• Handle end-to-end payroll processing, including statutory deductions and government reporting (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR).
• Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Perform and manage month-end and year-end closings.
• Ensure compliance with BIR filing requirements (e.g., 2550M/Q, 1601-C, 1701/1702) and other tax regulations.
• Coordinate and support external audits, including preparation of financial documentation.
• Assist in the creation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Analyze financial trends and provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Stay informed on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
• At least 3 years of professional accounting experience, with 1+ year in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing payroll processes and understanding of related government reporting requirements.
• Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and GAAP.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment is an advantage.
