Job summary

ALTEN MÉXICO is seeking an Interiors Design and Release Engineer to lead the design, development, validation, timing and release of cockpit components. You will own early validation and ensure system objectives are met while coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

This role requires a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 1–3 years of relevant experience, CAD proficiency (NX/CATIA), and knowledge of PLM and GD&T.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience or knowledge in Instrumental Panel, Doors and Consoles.
• Knowledge of hard plastic processes: extrusion, injection, thermoforming, compression.
• Experience with ABS, PP, electronic components, fabrics (leather, cloth, vinyl).
• Experience with CAD (NX, Catia V5 or similar).
• Experience with PLM (Teamcenter, Enovia, or others).
• Experience on GD&T, DFMEA, DM/DFA, PPAP, APQP.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• English advanced.
• Ability to manage projects and suppliers.
• Effective communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, validation, timing and production release of cockpit components.
• Manage BoM, CAD drawings, validation testing, engineering change management and launch PPAP.
• Support prototype builds and issue resolution during design reviews.
• Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams for issue resolution and production launches.

We are looking fon an Interiors Design and Release Engineer who will be responsible for the component and system level design, development, validation, timing and production release of the following areas: COCKPIT.

This includes ownership of all aspects of the early validation and function of the component, with the follow-up of the design to ensure all system and vehicle level functional objectives are met, and also performing the component and system level validation testing.

Other aspects of the job include managing overall release of the components including the Bill of Material, CAD drawings, component/system/vehicle level validation testing, engineering change management, Design Verification Plan, and testing. Additional duties will include issuing engineering change notices, reviewing/approving FMEAs, DVP&Rs, support of prototype builds, issue resolution, PPAP, and launch production support.

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• Experience from 1 to 3 years or general knowledge on Instrumental Panel, Doors and Consoles.
• Knowledge on hard plastic process: extrusion, injection, thermoforming, compression.
• Experience or general knowledge on the folloeing materials: ABS, PP, Electronic components, Fabrics (leather, cloth, vinyl).
• Experience with suppliers management and launching processes.
• Experience in automotive industry.
• Experience with CAD (NX, Catia V5 or similars)
• Experience with PLM (Teamcenter, Enovia, or others)
• Experience on GD&T, DFMEA, DM/DFA, PPAP, APQP.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point.
• Creation, management and edition of BoM's/ EBoM's.
• English advanced
• Ability to manage projects and suppliers,
• Ability for problem resolutions.
• Effective communication skills and cross-functional teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Shaining Problem Solving.
• In plant launch experience.
• Experience or general knowledge on commodities like hard trim or seats is eligible as well.
