Edge is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant based in Peru to support U.S. healthcare practices. The role blends front-end and back-end healthcare coordination, including patient communications and administrative workflows.

Ideal candidates have experience with U.S. health insurance processes and patient coordination, and can work across English and Spanish language channels with reliable home setup.

Formación

• Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

Responsabilidades

• Handle inbound/outbound calls, emails, and patient communications in English and Spanish.
• Manage appointment scheduling and patient intake.
• Perform health insurance eligibility and benefits verification across U.S. payer portals.
• Obtain prior authorizations and track referral coordination.
• Communicate with providers, billing teams, and plans to resolve coverage questions.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready patient records in EHR/PM systems.
• Escalate complex claims or coverage disputes to team leaders.

About the Role

We are seeking for a Virtual Medical Assistant based in Peru with hands-on experience supporting U.S. healthcare practices. This role combines both front-end and back-end healthcare support responsibilities, helping patients and providers navigate administrative and clinical coordination processes efficiently.

The ideal candidate has direct experience working with U.S. health insurance processes and patient coordination tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound calls, emails, and patient communications professionally in English and Spanish.
• Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake, and medical reception/front-desk support.
• Perform health insurance eligibility and benefits verification across U.S. payer portals.
• Obtain prior authorizations, track referral coordination, and follow up with health insurance carriers.
• Communicate directly with providers, billing teams, and insurance plans to resolve coverage questions and obtain missing clinical documentation.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready patient records, tracking deadlines and workflow timelines within Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Practice Management systems.
• Escalate complex claims, billing errors, or coverage disputes to appropriate team leaders.

Requirements

• Located in Peru with a reliable work-from-home setup (stable internet connection and power backup required).
• Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
• Prior hands-on experience supporting U.S. healthcare practices, clinical workflows, or U.S. health insurance processes.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools, EHR/EMR platforms, insurance eligibility portals, and prior authorization workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, customer service orientation, and high attention to detail.
