Job summary

KWS Peru S.A.C. is seeking a Test Station Technician in Piura, Peru to support field breeding and seed production activities.

You will help ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance across sunflower, maize, and sorghum programs, and work with diverse teams across stations. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy or related field, 1–3 years' field experience, and proficiency in Excel, SAP, Power BI, and Power Apps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in nurseries, seed production, or research-related agricultural operations.
• Advanced knowledge of maize hybridization techniques, with strong expertise in sunflower and sorghum breeding programs.
• Experience leading operational teams and managing field resources.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, SAP, Power BI, and Power Apps.
• Intermediate English proficiency.
• Valid A1 driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supporting operational activities to achieve established objectives while maintaining strict quality and efficiency standards.
• Monitoring crop vegetative development and issuing timely alerts to facilitate corrective actions when needed.
• Assisting in the creation and maintenance of field maps using Field Explorer.
• Managing the physical inventory of materials used in sunflower and sorghum hybridization and harvesting processes.
• Ensuring proper labeling of maize increase programs and sunflower and sorghum programs before, during, and after hybridization activities.
• Supporting hybridization activities for maize, sunflower, and sorghum increase programs.
• Preparing the annual harvest plan, taking into account irrigation schedules, moisture measurements, and operational requirements.
• Proposing, implementing, and monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, objectives, and work methods.
• Participating in the development of new processes and work techniques, as well as drafting operational guidelines and manuals.
• Collaborating actively with different teams and providing support for other activities assigned by management.
• Complying with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and the company's internal policies.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.

• Advanced knowledge of maize hybridization techniques, with strong expertise in sunflower and sorghum breeding programs.
• Proven experience leading operational teams and managing field resources.
• Strong knowledge of digital tools including Excel, SAP, Power BI, and Power Apps.
• Intermediate English proficiency.
• Valid A1 driver's license.
• Additional studies or certifications related to agriculture are highly valued.
• Physical capability to perform intensive field work during peak periods such as flowering and harvest.
• Flexibility to work outside standard office hours during high-demand seasons.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across different stations.
