Jobtailor in Lima, Peru is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own a project from conception through deployment within a modern cloud stack. You will write production-ready, self-documenting code and optimize for observability and cost.

You will mentor teammates, promote best practices in cloud development, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Strong English and 5+ years in software engineering are required, with experience in AWS, CDK, React, and databases.

Formación

• 5 years of experience as a software engineer (fullstack).
• 3-4 years of experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), ideally AWS.
• 2 years with CDK for deploying cloud infrastructure.
• 3-4 years with TypeScript and NodeJS.
• 3-4 years experience with Git and GitHub Actions.
• 2 years frontend experience (React).
• 3 years with relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with payment systems (Stripe, Mercado Pago) desired.
• Experience with Zoho and Healthie is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Writes production‑ready code, aiming for self‑documenting code that aligns with the overall service architecture. Utilizes abstractions and code isolation effectively. Ensures apps can be monitored using a single observability tool and optimizes apps for the lowest possible infrastructure cost. Works in a specific stack and implements detailed software design.
• Take full ownership of one project from conception through deployment, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, promoting best practices in cloud architecture and development. Provides mentorship to Software Engineers in one stack.
• Identify issues in more than one stack and refactor systematic issues in at least one stack. Respond to stakeholders when an issue is raised.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience as a software engineer (fullstack).
• 3-4 years of experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), ideally with experience in using the AWS Cloud.
• 2 years of experience with Development Kit (CDK) for deploying cloud infrastructure.
• 3-4 years of experience with TypeScript and NodeJS.
• 3-4 years of experience working with version control systems such as git. Ability to use GitHub Actions.
• 2 years of experience in Frontend (React).
• 3 years of experience with relational and non‑relational databases.
• Experience with payment systems such as Stripe, Mercado Pago, etc. (desired).
• Experience working with Zoho and Healthie is considered a plus (desired).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ability to present ideas in a clean, user‑friendly way.
• English (C1/C2) fluency.
