Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Project Planner in Huancavelica, Peru, to lead and optimize project schedules for large-scale technology and infrastructure initiatives. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and at least 7 years of experience in project planning. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is essential, along with strong analytical and communication skills. This role involves collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure project adherence to timelines and implementing best practices in project management.

Overview

Hitachi Rail STS is seeking a Senior Project Planner to lead and optimize complex project schedules for large-scale technology and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct critical path analysis, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project adherence to timelines.
  • Prepare and present detailed progress reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to project teams and senior management.
  • Implement and continuously improve planning processes and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and predictability.
  • Mentor and guide junior planners, fostering a culture of excellence in project planning and control.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, project management best practices, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather planning input and gain consensus on project timelines and milestones.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably within large-scale technology, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise in using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project at an advanced level.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, AACEI, Agile) and scheduling principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading planning efforts for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
