Job summary

Plan A Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer to lead complex Azure to AWS migrations, owning strategy, execution, and optimization to minimize downtime while maximizing performance and cost efficiency.

You will work across architecture, data, and workloads with engineering and infrastructure teams, leveraging AWS services and Azure capabilities to deliver secure, scalable migrations in high-scale environments.

Qualifications

• Proven senior-level experience leading Azure to AWS migrations in production.
• Hands-on with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM) and Azure (VMs, Storage, Networking).
• Experience migrating applications and data across cloud providers.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security fundamentals.
• Experience with infrastructure migration tools (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, DMS).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in distributed systems.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to lead technical decisions with engineering and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Azure to AWS migration projects (assessment, planning, execution, and cutover).
• Define target AWS architectures aligned with scalability, security, and cost best practices.
• Migrate workloads including compute, storage, databases, and networking components.

• Implement and optimize migration tooling and automation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues across infrastructure and application layers.

Job Overview

Plan A Technologies is looking for a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer to lead complex cloud-to-cloud migrations, with a strong focus on Azure to AWS transitions. This role owns the migration strategy, execution, and optimization, ensuring minimal disruption, strong performance, and cost efficiency.

You will work hands-on across architecture, data, and workloads, partnering with engineering and infrastructure teams to deliver secure and scalable migrations. The ideal candidate has deep, real-world experience executing Azure to AWS migrations end-to-end and has operated in high-scale environments.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience with end-to-end Azure to AWS migration projects to be considered for this role.

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security fundamentals.
• Experience with infrastructure migration tools (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, DMS, or equivalent).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in distributed systems.
• Understanding of networking, security, identity, data, observability, and infrastructure automation across both platforms
• Ability to lead technical decisions and work directly with engineering and client teams
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Initiative and drive to do great things.

Nice to have

• Experience with additional cloud migrations (e.g., AWS to GCP, Azure to GCP).
• Background working at or closely with major cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft, or Google).
• Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python).
• Familiarity with containerized workloads (e.g., Docker).
