GitLab is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Duo Chat team to shape core AI capabilities behind GitLab Duo Chat across the DevSecOps platform. You will lead a distributed group of engineers delivering AI-powered experiences with strong engineering judgment.

You’ll guide architecture, testing, and performance improvements while coaching engineers to grow, ensuring reliable, scalable AI features across the lifecycle.

Formación

• Experience leading engineering teams in distributed environments.
• Strong software engineering foundation to discuss tradeoffs.
• Hands-on familiarity with agentic AI in software development workflows.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and fast-moving product development.
• Clear communication across engineering, product, design, and stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a team of frontend, backend, and AI engineers to deliver Duo Chat roadmap commitments across the DevSecOps lifecycle.
• Partner with product and UX teams to define requirements and deliver AI features.
• Contribute to architecture and development work for scalable AI systems.
• Set direction, track milestones, and remove blockers to maintain schedule.
• Provide coaching and growth conversations to strengthen team performance.
• Foster curiosity, inclusion, accountability, and steady delivery.
• Improve testing, observability, and performance of AI-powered chat workflows.
