Athenaworks seeks a Sr. AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent agents that understand, reason, and act for customers.

You will work at the cutting edge of applied AI, combining LLMs, RAG, MCPs, and autonomous agent frameworks to solve real-world engagement problems at scale. This is a highly collaborative role, partnering with product, design, data science, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions and robust agent systems across projects.

Formación

• 8+ years in software engineering with a focus on AI/ML systems.
• Hands‑on with LLMs, RAG pipelines, MCPs, context/prompt engineering, or autonomous agent frameworks.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Good understanding of information retrieval, knowledge graphs, and AI planning/reasoning.
• MLOps mindset with experiment tracking and deployment practices.
• Experience with unstructured text data and NLP tasks.
• Excellent problem solving and results oriented mindset.
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings.

Responsabilidades

• Design AI agent architectures for customer engagement and automation.
• Build and maintain pipelines for agent reasoning, memory, planning, and tool use (LLMs, RAG, MCPs).
• Evaluate models and agents to improve performance, reliability, and alignment.
• Collaborate on a robust agent framework with multi-step workflows and dynamic goals.
• Optimize agent cost, latency, and safety for production environments.
• Monitor and improve deployed agents through feedback and analytics.
• Stay ahead of AI agent trends and contribute innovative ideas to products.
