Bluelight Consulting is seeking an experienced backend-focused software engineer to design and build low-latency, scalable APIs on AWS. You will work across PostgreSQL databases with Row-Level Security, implement multi-tenant patterns, and collaborate with frontend teams when needed.

You will contribute to testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments while aligning with best practices. A 5+ year track record and a Bachelor’s degree are expected.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed.
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours

• Experience with Fastify and schema-first validation (e.g., Zod)
