Bluelight is a leading software consultancy expanding across the Americas and seeking a senior backend-focused developer in Arequipa. You’ll contribute to high-quality applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS, designing scalable RESTful services for diverse clients.

This role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning within a fast-paced environment. You’ll work on complex systems, ensure security and reliability, and overlap US business hours as needed.

Formación

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed.
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with append-only, event-sourced, or bitemporal data models
• Experience with Fastify and schema-first validation (e.g., Zod)
• Experience running containerized services on AWS Fargate/ECS
• Experience in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains (e.g., fintech, telecom/TCPA compliance)
