Bluelight is seeking a backend-focused software developer with strong Node.js and TypeScript skills to design and implement scalable, low-latency API services in AWS. You will work on secure, multi-tenant architectures and robust data access with PostgreSQL, while integrating with frontend work and AI-assisted tooling.

You should have 5+ years of professional experience, a Bachelor's degree, and a track record in RESTful APIs, testing, and CI/CD.

• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience writing secure multi-tenant environments and raw SQL.
• Proficient in React and modern frontend basics when needed.
• Strong testing, integration tests against real databases, and fault-injection testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused)
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate)
• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap US business hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with append-only, event-sourced, or bitemporal data models
• Experience with Fastify and schema-first validation (e.g., Zod)

• Experience in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains (e.g., fintech, telecom/TCPA compliance)
