Job description

Dubai / Abu Dhabi. Full Time – 5+ years of Critical Power Engineering experience and must have data center or similar critical power systems experience.

Note: This position requires shift and on-call coverage supporting 24/7 operations

Engineer the power behind uninterrupted computing.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in Critical Power Infrastructure Engineering to support the design, delivery, operation, and improvement of data center electrical systems.

You will work across different technologies, manufacturers, and operating conditions, supporting 24×7 environments—from conventional enterprise workloads to high-density AI and GPU infrastructure with liquid cooling.

We value engineers who understand the fundamentals, investigate beyond the obvious, and turn complex problems into practical, safe, and well-documented solutions.

What you will own
  • Critical power engineering. Evaluate and improve the electrical power path from utility supply to the rack, including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, generators, UPS systems, batteries, transfer switches, power distribution units, busways, earthing, and bonding.
  • Resilience across operating scenarios. Assess capacity, redundancy, protection coordination, power quality, and system behavior during normal operation, maintenance, utility failure, equipment faults, and restoration. Understand how changing workloads, rapid GPU load variations, and high rack densities affect infrastructure.
  • Projects and commissioning. Review single-line diagrams, calculations, specifications, vendor submissions, and installation quality. Support upgrades, testing, integrated systems testing, commissioning, and handover, with particular attention to work within operating facilities.
  • Electrical integration with liquid cooling. Engineer reliable power supplies, backup arrangements, controls interfaces, and restart sequences for coolant distribution units, pumps, and associated cooling equipment. Work with mechanical and controls teams to assess power-loss behavior, cooling continuity, and interlocks.
  • Maintenance and equipment health. Plan and oversee preventive and condition-based maintenance. Review inspection findings, test results, alarms, and equipment trends; identify deterioration; and recommend corrective work, critical spares, or replacement.
  • Troubleshooting and improvement. Diagnose failures across equipment from different manufacturers. Lead root cause investigations, validate corrective actions, and develop solutions that address the underlying engineering problem.
  • HSE and compliance. Apply strong Health, Safety and Environment practices, including risk assessments, permits to work, safe isolation, lockout/tagout, arc-flash precautions, and contractor controls. Ensure work follows applicable electrical codes, authority requirements, site procedures, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Technical records and reporting. Maintain equipment condition records, asset registers, maintenance histories, warranty details and claims, service manuals, drawings, settings, and commissioning records. Prepare clear technical reports covering incidents, risks, maintenance findings, project progress, and recommended actions.
  • Team and vendor coordination. Coordinate operations teams, technicians, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and service partners. Prepare and review operating, maintenance, and emergency procedures, including switching plans, change controls, and recovery steps.
What you bring
  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, supported by strong practical knowledge of power systems and electrical engineering calculations.
  • Substantial experience in 24×7 critical power infrastructure, with a strong, demonstrable record of data center projects and operations.
  • Direct project experience in data centers using liquid cooling, including the electrical dependencies between IT equipment, cooling systems, and controls.
  • Experience with multiple manufacturers and system configurations, with the ability to assess alternatives on engineering merit.
  • A sound understanding of redundant power architectures, fault levels, selectivity, load flow, harmonics, battery autonomy, and safe maintainability.
  • Strong HSE and compliance knowledge, disciplined maintenance practices, and accurate technical documentation.
  • Clear communication, effective team coordination, and the judgment to manage incidents calmly and elevate risks promptly.
  • Availability for planned maintenance windows and an agreed emergency or on-call support arrangement.

An advantage: Professional engineering registration, relevant OEM training, electrical study software experience, and familiarity with electrical power monitoring, building management, data center infrastructure management, and computerized maintenance management systems.

How you approach engineering

You question assumptions, use evidence, and explain your recommendations clearly. You can compare solutions across vendors, balance reliability with maintainability and cost, and take responsibility through implementation and verification.

We welcome fresh thinking backed by sound engineering, controlled change, and safe execution.
