Applaudo is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and maintain production ETL pipelines that integrate Zuora REST APIs with a GCP data warehouse. You will develop components in TypeScript/Node.js and Python, ensure data quality, monitor pipelines, and operate within established CI/CD practices.

You will collaborate asynchronously with an international team, own data transformation logic for billing and revenue data, and contribute to a scalable, AI-powered data platform.

Formación

• 5+ years in data engineering or related roles.
• Production ETL experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Strong Python for data pipelines.
• Proficient in GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
• Experience consuming REST APIs with OAuth 2.0, pagination, error handling, and retries.
• Advanced SQL and complex data warehouse schemas.
• Data transformation and data quality validation experience.
• Knowledge of pipeline monitoring, alerting, failure recovery, and operational support.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and coding standards.
• Ability to onboard quickly into an existing codebase.
• Strong written and async communication.
• English for daily collaboration; overlap with Pacific Time.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain ETL pipelines between Zuora REST APIs and a GCP data warehouse.
• Develop and maintain integration components using TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
• Manage transformation logic for billing events, subscriptions, invoices, payments, and revenue data.
• Work within the existing architecture, patterns, conventions, and CI/CD.
• Develop data pipelines using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, error handling, retry logic, and data-quality controls.
• Write complex SQL validation queries to verify data parity.
• Collaborate with Business Architect to implement data-validation requirements.
• Investigate pipeline failures, data discrepancies, and integration issues.
• Support accurate and reliable data movement across source systems and warehouse.
• Provide clear written updates in a distributed async team.
• Participate in Agile/Kanban workflow.

You are an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys building reliable integrations and transforming complex data into accurate, accessible, and actionable information. You have hands-on experience developing production ETL pipelines with TypeScript/Node.js and Python, integrating REST APIs, and working with cloud-based data platforms. You are comfortable joining an established codebase, following existing technical patterns and CI/CD workflows, and becoming productive with minimal guidance.

You communicate clearly in distributed environments, work effectively with limited overlap, and take ownership of monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the reliability of your pipelines.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, integration development, or related roles.
• Production experience building ETL or data-integration pipelines using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong Python experience focused on data-pipeline development.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
• Experience integrating REST APIs using OAuth 2.0, pagination, error handling, and retry mechanisms.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with complex data warehouse schemas.
• Experience developing data-transformation logic and data-quality validations.
• Understanding of pipeline monitoring, alerting, failure recovery, and operational support.
• Experience working within established architectures, coding conventions, and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to onboard independently and become productive within an existing codebase.
• Strong written communication skills and an async-first collaboration style.
• Working English proficiency for daily collaboration with an international team.
• Availability to overlap with Pacific Time, primarily between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. PT.

The following experience is considered a plus:

• Experience working with Zuora REST APIs and ZOQL.
• Knowledge of the Zuora billing object model, including subscriptions, invoices, and payments.
• Experience using dbt or similar data-transformation frameworks.
• GCP Professional Data Engineer certification.

You Will Be Accountable For

• Supporting accurate and reliable data movement across source systems and warehouse environments.
• Providing clear written updates and collaborating effectively within a distributed, async-first team.
