Mercuria in Lima is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to join our accounting team and gain hands-on experience across core accounting functions within a dynamic trading business. You will work with a close-knit team on general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable, learning how accounting supports trading operations.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in the 8th semester or above for a Bachelor's in Accounting, shows initiative, and communicates

Formación

• Currently enrolled in the 8th semester or above for a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Basic knowledge in tax and accounting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power BI, is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Basic knowledge in SAP, desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Support to accounting processes related to trading operations, including logistic costs, purchases and sales of concentrate and other activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the applicable accounting system(s), with appropriate review and guidance.
• Assist with intercompany account reconciliations and related accounting activities.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Process and support accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

You will work closely with a team of accounting professionals in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, where priorities can change and attention to detail is important. The ideal candidate will be someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to ask questions and take initiative when appropriate.

This role will provide exposure to general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and accounting activities related to trading operations.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
