Job summary

Yokogawa is seeking a trainee to join the Control System Panel Integration team in Muscat. The role involves structured technical training while actively supporting wiring, testing, staging, and site commissioning under engineer guidance.

You will assist with Pre-FAT/FAT activities, learn to handle materials, maintain store records, and follow HSE and quality procedures while coordinating with engineers to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma required in a related field.
• Basic knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
• Willingness to work on-site at customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Support System Panel Integration activities, including wiring, termination, and inspection.
• Assist with Pre-FAT and FAT activities, including loop testing and functional checks.
• Support system staging, hardware preparation, and basic system configuration activities.
• Assist Engineers during site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Perform material handling, identification, and tracking for project requirements.
• Maintain proper store organization, material records, and inventory control.
• Prepare and maintain basic testing records, checklists, and project documentation.
• Follow approved engineering procedures, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Engineers and project team members to complete activities on schedule.
• Participate in structured technical training and develop skills for independent system technician duties.

Job Purpose

The role involves structured technical training while actively supporting Control System Panel Integration and Pre-FAT/FAT activities, including wiring, loop testing, system staging, material handling, store management, and site commissioning support under the guidance of Engineers.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Assist with Pre-FAT and FAT activities, including loop testing and functional checks.
• Support system staging, hardware preparation, and basic system configuration activities.
• Assist Engineers during site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.Perform material handling, identification, and tracking for project requirements.
• Maintain proper store organization, material records, and inventory control.
• Prepare and maintain basic testing records, checklists, and project documentation.
• Follow approved engineering procedures, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Engineers and project team members to complete assigned activities within the required schedule.
• Participate in structured technical training and progressively develop the skills required for independent system technician responsibilities.

Qualification and Experience

• Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Automation, or a related field.

Competencies

• Basic knowledge of industrial automation, control systems, and instrumentation.
• Basic understanding of electrical wiring, termination, and loop testing.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
• Good teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.
• Ability to follow HSE procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Willingness to work in workshops and customer site environments, including commissioning activities.

Skills

• Good verbal and written communication in English and Arabic
• Panel wiring and cable termination, Loop checking and testing and System panel integration
• Basic knowledge of control and automation systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Basic computer and MS Excel and MS Office skills
• Material handling and inventory management
• Basic troubleshooting skills and Strong attention to detail.
