To ensurethe continued airworthiness, reliability, safety, and operational performanceof aircraft avionics and electrical systems by providing technical engineeringsupport, evaluating regulatory requirements and technical modifications,managing reliability and maintenance programs, and coordinating withmanufacturers, service providers, and internal stakeholders. The role isresponsible for maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory andorganizational requirements while driving continuous improvements in avionicssystem performance, maintenance effectiveness, and operational reliability.
Duties andResponsibilities:
- Efficiently co-ordinate with other departments regardingTechnical Projects to achieve high-quality technical standards acceptable toairworthiness authority and the company.
- Reviews ADs, SBs, modifications, reliability issues, andmaintenance programs related to avionics / electrical systems.
- Maintaining a database of information / history relevant toeach aircraft and its electronics and electrical systems that includesmodification data.
- Establish and or enforce compliance of applicable rules,policies and procedures and ensure HSE Policies are complied with andrecommended updates accordingly.
- Reviews and coordinate proposal preparations, statements ofwork and specifications, estimation of product/service costs, negotiation andadministration of contracts thereby supporting Manager Technical Services toarrive at the best option and undertake necessary action steps.
- Oversee and manage the maintenance, inspection, andmodification of aircraft electronics and electrical systems, includingcommunications, navigation, surveillance, flight management, cockpit displays,electrical power generation/distribution, and aircraft software.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs, ensuringcompliance with safety regulations, manufacturer recommendations, andairworthiness requirements.
- Provides engineering support for system malfunctions,component reliability, and overhaul programs.
- Lead investigations into any issues with aircraft avionicssystems, ensuring accurate root cause analysis and timely resolution.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and external vendors tosource parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs or modifications.
- Ensure that all maintenance and modification activities aredocumented accurately and comply with regulatory and company requirements.
- Maintain and update technical records, including inspectionreports, service bulletins, and maintenance logs.
- Contribute to the development of aircraft maintenanceprograms related to aircraft electronics and electrical systems, ensuring theyare aligned with fleet requirements and operational goals.
- Monitor and ensure that scheduled maintenance related toavionics is completed on time, minimizing aircraft downtime and maximizingfleet availability.
- Liaise with other departments, including Maintenance,Operations, and Procurement, to ensure smooth execution of maintenanceactivities.
- Communicate with external suppliers and manufacturers toensure timely supply of parts and services for related aircraft electronics andelectrical systems.
- Provide technical advice and support to the team, ensuringthey are equipped with the knowledge and resources to perform their dutieseffectively.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering instructions,assessments, and recommendations.
- Identify areas for improvement in maintenance procedures andcontribute to the implementation of solutions that enhance service quality andefficiency.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on thelatest technical developments, tools, and regulations in the field of aircraftavionics.
- Carry out any other task as and when directed by ManagerTechnical Services.
Requirements
- Graduate inMechanical/Aeronautical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of3-5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
- Strongexperience with aircraft inspection, repair, and modification.
