Job summary

Want More is seeking a Surveying Technician to perform field and office tasks in land surveying. You will use GPS, total stations, levels and related tools to collect data, analyze it, and create maps and plans for clients.

Reports detailing findings will be prepared, and you will assist in developing construction documents. You will communicate with clients to understand requirements, collaborate with the team to meet deadlines, and maintain equipment while following safety protocols on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in geomatics or a related field is preferred.
• Previous surveying technician experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with GPS units, total stations and levels.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data accurately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Surveying Technician

As a Surveying Technician, you will be responsible for conducting field and office work related to land surveying. This includes using various tools and equipment to measure and map out land areas, collecting and analyzing data, and creating detailed reports for clients. You will also assist in the development of maps, plans, and other documents for construction projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys using tools such as global positioning systems (GPS), total stations, levels, and other equipment
• Collect data on land features, including boundaries, topography, and existing structures
• Analyze survey data to create accurate maps and plans
• Prepare reports detailing survey findings for clients
• Assist in the development of maps, plans, and other documents for construction projects
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met
• Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is in good working condition
• Adhere to safety protocols while working on site

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in geomatics or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience as a surveying technician or a similar role is an asset

Salary: $1000 per month

Location: Muscat (Canadian nationality preferred)
