Job summary

confidential jobs is seeking a Category Buyer – Transportation & Transit to lead sourcing and category management across transportation spend, including fleet, logistics, mobility services, and service contracts. You will develop category strategies, manage supplier performance, drive negotiations, and ensure cost-effective, compliant supply solutions aligned with business objectives.

The role requires collaboration with procurement, finance, operations, and legal, with a focus on risk

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
2-3 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
Professional certification such as CSCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute category strategies aligned with operational and financial objectives.
Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including NDA, RFI, RFQs, RFPs, tender evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
Negotiate pricing, terms, SLAs, and contracts to optimize total cost of ownership.
Manage supplier relationships and performance across quality, delivery, cost, safety, and service metrics.
Collaborate with procurement, transit, operations, logistics, finance, engineering, and legal stakeholders.
Monitor market conditions, supplier risks, and industry trends impacting transportation categories.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and alternative sourcing.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance standards.
