Job summary

Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman seeks a Shift Technician (Buggy & Generator) to safeguard sustainability and ensure reliable operation of all mechanical systems. You will work under the engineering team, applying mechanical knowledge to maintain generators and assist on engineering issues.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic mechanical skills, and good English. You should be comfortable living in a remote location for extended periods and traveling on single status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or valid license to practice mechanical engineering and at least 1 year experience in a similar setting.
• Technical skills include the ability to analyze and design projects of limited complexity and scope. Knowledge in blueprint reading and installing of machines, wiring and equipment and basic mechanical skills are mandatory.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; able to live in a remote location for extended periods and travel on single status.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems by designing and conducting research programs.
• Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods and verifying fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Maintains maintenance tools, stores and equipment and ensures continuous cover of machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
• Supports sustainability initiatives and cost-saving measures; coordinates with engineering for material orders.
