Job summary

Experience in Oman is seeking a Senior Well Engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary drilling, completions, and work-over team. You will drive well planning, execution, and performance while ensuring regulatory compliance and HSSE standards.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with subsurface, production, facilities, and construction teams. Strong English communication and continuous improvement mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Engineering degree or equivalent technical discipline.
10–15 years of relevant E&P experience in well engineering including planning, design, programming, and construction.
Regional exposure with Drilling and CWI activities in Oman preferred.
IWCF Supervisor/Level 4 certification.
Comprehensive casing, tubing, cement, fluids/mud programmes, BHA designs, and hydraulics optimization experience.
Fluent technical English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Line Management: direct line management for Well Engineers reporting to this position.
Mentor and develop engineers within the operational team.
Provide office-based technical support to manage rig/hoist operations.
Embed continuous improvement concepts (DWOP, AAR, BPR) for learning culture.
Offer real-time technical guidance to rig-site Drilling Supervisors on drilling, completion, work-over, and abandonment.
Monitor delivered work and costs to apply cost-effective techniques and equipment.
Standardize drilling/CWI assemblies and lead new drill bit trials with performance metrics.
Prepare technical reports and lookahead planning for personnel, equipment, and services.
