Job summary

OQ seeks an experienced senior engineer to lead corrosion and RBI activities within the refinery. You will drive corrosion assessments across process units, maintain CCDs, and guide optimization of inspection schedules in line with API standards.

You will oversee RBI implementation, monitor IO surveillance, mentor junior engineers, and support capital projects with material and corrosion input. Proficiency in English is required; Arabic desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Metallurgical, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical) or related fields.
• Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required); Arabic - native desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive corrosion assessments across refinery process units (crude, vacuum, hydro processing, utilities, offsites).
• Develop, maintain, and update Corrosion Control Documents (CCD), corrosion loops/circuits, and materials selection guidelines.
• Identify and evaluate damage mechanisms per API RP 571, recommending proactive mitigation strategies.
• Oversee corrosion monitoring programs (coupons, probes, non-intrusive techniques).
• Investigate corrosion-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
• Provide technical guidance on chemical treatment programs, inhibitor optimization, and process chemistry impacts.
• Lead RBI program in full compliance with API RP 580/581; validate data and model PoF/CoF.
• Translate RBI outputs into optimized inspection plans and risk-ranked priorities for static equipment and piping.
• Coordinate withInspection teams to implement RBI outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Establish, monitor, and maintain Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) for critical parameters.
• Lead investigations into IOW exceedances and integrate data into RBI updates.
• Provide on-site technical leadership during turnaround for anomaly resolution and integrity risk assessments.
• Support capital projects with materials/corrosion reviews and MOC evaluations.
