Job summary

Saudi Aramco in Dhahran is seeking an Electrical Power Contracts Engineer to oversee third-party and joint venture energy agreements, ensuring technical adequacy and contract compliance for power systems.

You will review billing, perform cogeneration system analyses, and develop short- and long-term energy offtake forecasts while collaborating with operations, planning, legal and external partners to align with Downstream objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• At least 15 years of field experience in utility/industry sectors with cogeneration and contract experience (IPP/BOO/BOOT).
• Strong analytical capabilities and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage third-party and joint venture agreements, including energy conversion and power purchase agreements.
• Review and verify third-party billing, including capacity and energy charges and penalties.
• Analyze cogeneration system performance and conduct benchmarking activities.
• Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, grid codes and offtake requirements.
• Monitor offtake and analyze variances; develop short- and long-term energy offtake forecasts.
• Analyze historical load patterns to optimize generation and dispatch planning.
• Identify risks related to offtake arrangements and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations, planning, project management and legal teams; support audits and regulatory compliance.
