Job summary

Green Gate is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead end-to-end operations in the livestock and agriculture sector in Oman. You will oversee procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory, and regulatory compliance to optimize performance and costs.

You will manage cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure biosecurity and welfare standards across all sites. A strong track record in livestock supply chains and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in operations or supply chain management.
• At least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Mandatory experience in the Livestock and Agriculture Sector.
• Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, procurement, inventory control, logistics, and operational planning.
• Sound understanding of livestock importation procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with ERP system experience considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall operations of the livestock and agriculture business, ensuring efficiency across the entire supply chain.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to improve productivity and business performance.
• Oversee livestock importation processes, including planning, documentation, regulatory approvals, customs clearance, and shipment coordination.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, farms, quarantine facilities, logistics providers, transport companies, and government authorities.
• Ensure proper livestock handling, welfare standards, storage conditions, biosecurity measures, and quality control throughout operations.
• Direct logistics, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Lead procurement planning for livestock, feed, agricultural inputs, equipment, and operational supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement effective stock management practices to minimize shortages and wastage.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable veterinary, agricultural, environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and monitor operational budgets while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
• Analyze operational performance using KPIs and prepare regular management reports with recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, Procurement, and Executive Management to align operational activities with business objectives.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team by promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
• Conduct regular site visits to farms, warehouses, quarantine facilities, and operational locations to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
